SUZI THUMBSUCKER
Suzi Thumbsucker was a Mary Meyer design created in 1962 by Mary Meyer’s son
Walter. It was a red plush doll with white plush feet and a white plush around her face. Her face and her hands were also rotational molded vinyl. There was an opening in her
mouth for her thumbs to fit into. That’s why she is called Suzi Thumbsucker, because
she appears to be sucking on her thumb. Her body was made from Rayon plush produced by Baxter, Kelly & Faust in their Philadelphia, PA mill and stuffed with chopped foam rubber. She also had a white satin neck ribbon. Suzi Thumbsucker was a very successful design and also made in a smaller size (#463) and also an Easter version with Bunny ears made in pink.
