SKUNK

This photo was taken in June 1959 for the 1960 Mary Meyer catalog. It was made of Black and White plush made by Baxter, Kelly & Faust in their Philadelphia, Pa mill.
The Skunk was stuffed with shredded foam rubber and decorated with felt eyes and tongue and a light Blue pompon nose and finally a satin neck-ribbon.
The eyes were the early Mary Meyer eyes with the White felt square centers.
This was popular Mary Meyer toy and cost $1.98 in a retail store.
This Skunk was designed about the same time as #147 Squirrel. They are similar in design, but differ in the color of the plush. The Skunk has Black body and head with White plush underbody, head center-piece and ear linings and a White shaggy tail.
The eyes and tongue are felt and the nose is a light Blue pompon. The neck-ribbon is light Blue. The plush was made by Baxter, Kelly & Faust in the Philadelphia, Pa mill. The stuffed was shredded foam rubber.
This was a fairly popular Mary Meyer design and sold for $1.98 in a retail store.
