TERRY SCOTTY DOG

Mary Meyer made a series of “Terry Toys” starting in 1966. There were 11 terry cloth

designs and they retailed for $1.00 at the time. Number T1 was a Scotty which Mary

Meyer designed herself. She used the exact same Scotty design in her animal

pincushion in the late 1930s and 1940s and as part of the Terry Toy series through the

1960s and 70s. We also made it in a plush Scotty with a musical mechanism in the

1970s. The exact same patterns were used from late 1930s through the 1970s.

Mary Meyer made a line of Terry Cloth toys beginning in 1960s. Made of terry cloth &

stuffed with foam rubber, it was a washable baby toy. This “Terry Toy” Scotty was exact

same pattern we used in the 1930s & 40s for our animal pin cushions. We also used the

same pattern for a plush Scotty in the late 1970s.
