STANDING CAT
Standing Cat – This was a very early Mary Meyer design. Mary
Meyer herself designed
that Standing Cat – it was made in Grey and White -about 8″ high –
Made of rayon plush
from Baxter, Kelly & Faust in Philadelphia, Pa – stuffed with
cotton in the early days and later with chopped foam rubber. The
eyes were the earliest version with French Knot of eye centers and
the nose and tongue were also sewn on to the toy. In the mid 1950
we started cementing them on.
#162 later version – late 1950’s – Note the center of the eyes are
small square White felt pieces instead of the French
Knots. Patterns, color, etc remained the same.
