    • This stuffed toy Grey Cat was designed by Mary Meyer herself and is part of a series she made in the very early 1950s. There was a #164 – Bear, #163 – Elephant,  #164 – Bear, #165 – Cat & #166 – Dog.  These 4 designs were also made in a very successful musical version – #963, #964, #965 & #966.

    MM Vin 443 Flip Dog Tan 1950The Flip Dog was one of Mary Meyer’s earliest creations. It was originally a Tan plush lying Dog with dark Brown ears. The plush was manufactured by Baxter, Kelly & Faust in their mill in Philadelphia. It was stuffed my shredded foam rubber in the mid 1950 and in the 1960 the stuffed became shredded polyurethane –a synthetic foam, which washed better and was lighter in weight.

  • Mohair Bears

    Mohair Bears

    During the very late 1950 and early 1960’s we manufactured a variety of Old Fashioned Teddy Bears made of mohair. In those days mohair bears were not the ultimate, top quality that they have become today.

      We made four sizes Old Fashioned Teddy Bears:

    • #570 – 12” – OFTB Bear
    • #540 – 16” – Medium OFTB Bear
    • #542 – 18” – Large OFTB Bear

  • Musical Clown Head

    Musical Clown Head

    The Musical Clown Head was a very popular musical toy for babies that could be hung on a crib or playpen to entertain a youngster. The Musical Clown Head was made with White plush for the head, Yellow plush for the pointed hat and a Brown fringe to separate the two.  It was a simple design – a round White plush head with a wind-up musical mechanism.  The key was in the back of the head. We used Swiss musical mechanism for many years.  The eyes, eyebrows and mouth were felt with a Red pompon nose and an elastic to suspend the toy.  On the elastic was a printed ribbon saying “I’m A Musical”.

    Musical Teddy Bear –

    This was a very early Mary Meyer teddy bear design. The #124 was a softly stuffed bear and the #924 was the same bear with a Swiss wind-up Music Box probably playing “Teddy Bears Picnic.  The bear was made in Cocoa and Tan with felt eyes, nose and tongue and a Red satin neck ribbon.

    Pajama Pooch Dog

    Pajama Pooch Dog – Early 1950’s – This is one of Mary Meyer’s early successes.  From this PJ Pooch grew a PJ Series of PJ Hound + PJ Cat.  Underneath was a zippered pouch for a child’s PJ’s.  Made is Spot with Black ears + tail, and a White Dog with Brown ears + tail.
